Let's go to work!
Working from home has obvious benefits, including no depressing commute and coffee and biscuits on tap.
But, let’s be honest, wouldn’t we be so much more productive if we had a fantastic home office like the one in Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield, designed by Avanti’s Karen Pearce.
The stunning two person study is blessed with many useful features, like plenty of storage space to prevent clutter and clever push panels to conceal all that spider-y wiring. The cabinets are Jazz Zebrano, the work surface Encore and the contrasting doors white gloss.
Karen said: “The clients had a wish list which included corner desks, ample storage including cabinets with metal cradles to hold files and folders and lockable drawers for privacy.
“Avanti was able to tick all of the boxes and our clients are delighted. Before, the room had two freestanding desks. Now it is a stylish, fully fitted and streamlined home office that is a pleasure to work in.”

Shine on with glass splashbacks
Another day, another heart-warming tale of more delighted Avanti customers.
Mr and Mrs Haines have fallen in love with their completed kitchen, designed by sales designer Steph Walsh and expertly fitted by Neil Shore.
The Halesowen couple chose the Clonmell door with Quartz Blanco star worktop, smartly finished off with Antarctic sky glass splashbacks.
They are over the moon and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Avanti to friends and family.
Nuts about Avant high gloss almond
Avanti sales designer Steph Walsh visited happy customers Mr and Mrs Cockin to take these stunning photos of their completed kitchen.
The couple chose Avant high gloss Almond with Shitake caesartone quartz worktop, designed by Steph and fitted by Luke Denning.
The Cockins approached Avanti at the start of 2013 with their extension plans, which we featured on our Facebook page.
Avanti has also designed and fitted three bedrooms and a utility room and the couple will shortly be returning to us for their new bathroom.
They have recommended Avanti to many people, including their parents and a work colleague who was in the process of placing an order with another company but, on seeing their kitchen and finding out more about our design service, placed an order with us instead.
Avanti keeps it in the family
Avanti pulled off a dream double by designing and fitting two beautiful kitchens for sisters Jill and Nicky Day.
Nicky approached our sales designer Steph Walsh at the start of 2013 with extension plans for her home in Norton, Stourbridge. She selected a contemporary design for her new kitchen, Remo Dove Grey with Steel Caress granite and glass splashback.
As Jill was planning an ambitious project to knock the kitchen and dining room of her home in Belbroughton together to create one large room, Nicky recommended that she also met Steph.
Jill opted for a more traditional style kitchen than her sister but the Clonmell Stone with Angola Black satin finish granite gives a modern twist to suit the house.
Both kitchens were designed by Steph Walsh and expertly fitted by Neil Shore.
Find out why Avanti have been firm family favourites for more than 30 years by viewing our wide range of styles and testimonials page.
Glass adds class
Delighted Avanti customer Pam Webb is looking forward to summer entertaining in style in her stunning new kitchen.
Our ingenious design, including glass splash backs, has brought welcome space and light in what was formerly a dark galley-shaped room.
The Caesarstone work surfaces complement the bold colours perfectly to give this kitchen the 'wow' factor.
Pam was also impressed with the fitters who were polite and punctual, did a fantastic job and left no mess, leaving her to enjoy this beautiful new room straight away.
Avanti makes a splash in Streetly
As days grow colder and the nights draw in, where better to relax than in your dream bathroom.
Whether you’re adding fresh accessories for autumn or planning a complete makeover, Avanti’s new bathroom studio in Streetly offers a stunning range of practical and stylish solutions.
Following the successful launch of its state-of-the-art studio in Brierley Hill in spring 2013, Avanti has now launched a dedicated department at its Aldridge Road showroom.
Eight complete bathroom displays, traditional and contemporary, illustrate perfectly how Avanti’s creative team can cater for all budgets, tastes, room shapes and sizes.
Designing breathtaking bathrooms comes naturally to Avanti, who can turn your vision of a tranquil retreat into reality, and dedicated customer service managers ensure every installation runs smoothly.
Lynn Hopkins, sales and marketing director, said: “After the success of our Brierley Hill studio, we were determined to bring beautiful bathrooms to another one of our showrooms and look forward to welcoming existing and new customers alike.”

Competition: Help us celebrate a new arrival
Everyone at Avanti is eagerly awaiting a new arrival this autumn – and on this occasion it’s not a state-of-the-art shower or kitchen gadget.
Our sales designer Steph Walsh is expecting her first baby and to celebrate we’re running a free to enter competition to guess his or her’s weight.
The person who comes closest to Baby Walsh’s actual birth weight will receive a fantastic three piece set of Bosch cookware for gas pots and pans worth £180.
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is like our Facebook page 'Avanti Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms' and message us with your estimate. You can also direct message us from our Twitter page @AvantiKB
We’ll keep posting reminders before Steph’s due date to make sure that none of our Facebook chums and Twitter followers miss the chance to get involved. Only one guess per person please.
Design Brief blog: Show appearance just Grand
Avanti enjoyed a highly successful Grand Designs Live appearance at a bustling Birmingham NEC over the weekend.
Our stand, which showcased Milton suede and alabaster, was extremely busy for all three days. Milton is an in-frame solid wood door which can be hand painted to meet individual requirements. Granite and the Falcon range also formed part of the display.
Sales designer Steph Walsh and her colleague Veronica Hill from Avanti’s Penn showroom gained many leads and arranged appointments galore for the coming weeks.
Steph said: “We’d like to thank everyone who visited our display in the Kitchens and Bathrooms area.
“It was also lovely to chat to happy customers who came along to tell us they had ordered a kitchen via last year’s show and were delighted with the results.”
The stand is now for sale. Anyone who would like to buy it can contact us for more details on 0800 446655.
You can also visit Avanti's Facebook page to view a gallery of photos from the event.
Generous Avanti help
Avanti have always prided themselves on playing an
important role in the local community, whether it is through
job creation and green initiatives at their Lye factory, running fun competitions for schoolchildren or charity donations.
When marketing manager Jonathan Pearce spotted a story about a forthcoming fund-raiser for a disabled youngster next to an Avanti advertisement in a recent issue of the Stourbridge News, he immediately approached managing director Ken Dearn, who was more than happy for the company to make a £250 donation.
As his devoted mum Gemma Hickman explains, eght-year-old Luis Hickman has Chromosome 1p36 Deletion, a rare condition which has left him facing a lifetime of communication and mobility problems.
Luis, from Stourbridge, uses a wheelchair and his mum would like to improve his quality of life by obtaining a trike and a specialised tablet with applications to help him communicate.
Gemma said: “I was delighted when Avanti contacted me to start the ball rolling and would like to thank them on Luis’s behalf for their generous donation.
“Luis is a very sociable boy who loves playing with his two younger siblings and his friends and these specialised items would really make a difference.”
Avanti are hoping that more businesses and individuals will follow their lead in supporting young Luis.
Gemma is holding a fund-raising night at David Lloyd Leisure in Brierley Hill on Sunday, October 6 and would welcome raffle and tombola prizes. Anyone who wishes to help can call her on 07568 137147 or email email@example.com

Design Brief blog - Tough (sinks) talking from Tim
There’s little Avanti’s purchasing manager Tim Bills doesn’t know about the components which make up your dream kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
Tim put his expertise to good use when he was selected for a three-strong panel of retailers to be quizzed about granite sinks in the June issue of esteemed industry journal KBB Review.
The feature, on behalf of manufacturers Schock, covered two pages and included Tim’s views on the benefits of granite sinks and Avanti’s relationship with the company.
Tim told the magazine: “We sell a lot of granite sinks as the under-mount market is quite strong for us.
“It’s certainly a popular material as it’s becoming increasingly more fashionable.
“My favourite development from Schock is the granite matching tap that they’ve recently introduced. After years of powder-coated chipping and matching problems it’s a really good innovation.”
Tim, who has been with Avanti for 16 years, is responsible for all purchasing, ranging from hinges and screws to major brands including Bosch and Rangemaster.
If you’re interested in hard-wearing granite sinks and surfaces to enhance your home, visit any of Avanti’s ten showrooms across the West Midlands and Scotland.
Design Brief blog: Avanti takes the high road for show success
Dynamic duo Steph Walsh and Veronica Hill took the high road for Avanti’s eagerly awaited appearance at the increasingly popular Ideal Home Show Scotland.
Our lovingly crafted display at the giant SECC in Glasgow, which showcased Milton Suede and alabaster, beautiful granite and the Falcon range, attracted plenty of visitor interest in kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms and our Wishaw-based designer Alex Ellis is poised for a busy summer due to an encouraging number of appointments made at the show.
Avanti’s next scheduled appearance will be closer to home at Grand Designs Live Birmingham at the NEC from October 4 to 6.
Steph won’t be ‘on duty’ on this occasion as she’ll be heavily pregnant and under strict instructions not to stand up for three days running!
In the meantime, if you’d like to view displays and find out more about our fantastic selection of kitchen, bedroom and bathroom displays, visit our showrooms in the West Midlands and Scotland.

20 up for our Ken
Avanti owner/managing director Ken Dearn is celebrating his 20th year with the company.
Ken originally joined the Black Country-based firm as finance director. Seven years ago he bought Avanti from its previous owner with his business partner and sales and marketing director Lynn Hopkins.
During Ken’s two decades with Avanti, he has helped the company to become one of the West Midlands’ best known and well respected interior specialists. Its strong emphasis on high quality products and outstanding customer service continues to gain both repeat business and recommendations to family and friends from delighted customers.
Avanti has a busy factory in Lye and nine showrooms in the region plus a showroom in Wishaw, Scotland. In February 2013, the company bucked current economic trends by opening a state-of-the-art bathroom studio in Brierley Hill.
The Avanti team helped Ken celebrate this milestone by sharing a specially made cake.
Design Brief blog – Show season continues north of the border
Avanti’s spring show commitments continue with the Ideal Home Show Scotland next month.
The popular event, which runs at the SECC, Glasgow, between May 24 and 27, is aimed at a wide range of visitors, from the adventurous homeowner tackling a major project to those wishing to find some stylish finishing touches to make their house a home.
Seven dedicated show sections cater for all tastes – Avanti can be found on stand number H330 in the Ideal Home Improvements section.
Avanti has been exhibiting at the show for three years and its 2013 display will showcase Milton suede and alabaster. Milton is an in-frame solid wood door which can be hand painted to match customer requirements. Beautiful granite and the Falcon range also form part of the display.
Show guests are welcome to go along to the Avanti stand and discuss their individual kitchen, bedroom and bathroom requirements with our friendly, experienced staff Stephanie Walsh and Veronica Hill.
Stephanie and Veronica will doubtless be hoping for more seasonal weather after battling through snow to staff the Avanti stand at the Homebuilding and Renovating Show at Birmingham’s NEC in March!
The full Avanti range can be viewed online or visit one of our showrooms or call 0800 446655. Avanti also has a showroom at 1, Netherton Industrial Estate, Wishaw.
Mayor makes welcome return to Avanti
THE Mayor of Dudley visited Avanti to find out more about its eco-friendly campaign to reduce costs and help the environment.
Councillor Melvyn Mottram and the Mayoress, Michelle Mottram, toured the factory in Hayes Lane, Lye, on March 27.
Avanti’s green schemes include the introduction of re-usable protective packaging, which reduces the need for corrugated cardboard, and sourcing energy efficient products such as lighting.
Also reaping rewards for both the company and the environment is a factory waste management system. Waste sawdust and wood is converted into heat, which is then pumped into the factory to slash both gas bills and the impact on landfill sites.
Electricity costs have also been cut thanks to a power factor correction, consisting of banks of capacitors.
Lynn Hopkins, Avanti’s managing director, said: “When the Mayor officially opened our new bathroom studio in Brierley Hill in February, he expressed a keen interest in our energy saving initiatives so we were delighted to welcome both him and the Mayoress again.
“We are proud of our green credentials and customers often tell us that our approach has influenced their decision when choosing Avanti to manufacture and fit their new kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.”
Design Brief blog: Snow joke – but worth the shovelling!
Avanti’s sales designer Steph Walsh loves snow so much she spent her honeymoon skiing in Austria.
But Steph couldn’t believe it when she opened the curtains on Saturday morning only to be greeted by four inches of snow. Sunday was no better as yet another four inches fell overnight on Sunday.
Steph and her Avanti colleague Veronica Hill are made of strong stuff though and nothing was going to stop them manning our display at the four-day Homebuilding and Renovating Show at the NEC, Birmingham.
“In the end it was definitely worth all the shovelling and scraping,” said Steph.
“We’d like to thank everyone who made the effort to come along to the show in blizzard conditions and took the time to visit Veronica and I on our stand.
“Considering the conditions, Sunday was our busiest day and virtually everyone we spoke to was seriously interested in an Avanti kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.
“We also had lots of positive feedback from previous customers, including Mr and Mrs Matty, for whom we fitted a kitchen ten years ago. We were delighted to hear that it is still as good as new.
“Many visitors felt compelled to let us know how good the stand looked and we also spoke to lots of people who are either planning extensions or new builds and would like to speak to us at some point in the future.
“All of our designers will be busy for the next few weeks creating inspiring designs and spreading the word about Avanti’s high quality products and outstanding customer service.”

Ranging from the relatively low key Kirsty’s Homemade Home to the no expense spared Extreme Makeover, they all offer ideas galore for creating our ideal home.

We love meeting potential customers who have a vision for their perfect kitchen, bedroom and bathroom and thoroughly enjoy turning their dreams into reality.
Avanti’s marketing manager Jonathan Pearce said: “Customers are very savvy these days and our aim is to find out exactly what they want, whether it’s a traditional design or something more contemporary.
“Our best selling ranges in 2012 were Zara and Artz Ivory. Both are vinyl doors - Zara is a shaker style door and Artz has a deep routed profile. A traditional solid oak painted door was also popular with customers and all of our best sellers were neutral colours.
“Granite work surfaces continue to be popular, too.
“For 2013, high gloss ranges and handle-less doors are definitely on trend.”

Quick on the draw to launch Avanti's new bathroom studio
Creative youngsters helped Avanti celebrate its latest expansion.
To mark the opening of its new bathroom studio in Brierley Hill this month, the company invited pupils from Wollescote Primary School in Lye to design a fantasy bathroom fit for a superhero or pop star.
Aminah Zaheer received a £20 WH Smith gift voucher for her picture, inspired by American singer Jamie Lynn Spears.
The ten-year-old’s design was then turned into a 3D interpretation which was framed and presented to her by Avanti’s managing director Lynn Hopkins.
Jonathan Pearce, Avanti’s marketing manager, said: “We contacted the school as it is close to our head office in Hayes Lane and we’re delighted that the children showed so much enthusiasm for the challenge.
“Choosing a winner was a difficult task, which is why we also awarded nine merit prizes of a £10 gift voucher.”
Wollescote Primary School head teacher Jo Quigley said: “Having watched our caretaker redesign their classrooms this year, the children were eager for the chance to become designers themselves.
“They thought long and hard about what a bathroom for a superhero or pop idol would look like and enjoyed creating and sharing their designs. At Wollescote we think superheroes like pink and purple!”
Avanti’s new bathroom studio, in Level Street, features 18 complete bathroom displays, both traditional and contemporary, and an extensive accessories area.

Avanti stand wows Grand Designs Live visitors
Avanti’s outstanding range of products and services proved a hit with visitors at this year’s Grand Designs Live at Birmingham’s NEC.
Trade sales manager Steph Lee and her colleague Veronica Hill from the Penn showroom had a hectic, but enjoyable three days at the popular annual show.
Steph said: “We’ve been exhibiting at the show since it made its debut in 2006 and it’s always been an excellent way to attract new customers.
“This year was particularly successful. The days seemed to fly by and we’ve made lots of appointments which we’ll be fitting in to the diary over the next few weeks.
“We also spoke to quite a few people who are having extensions built or are involved in longer term projects and would like to speak to us a little further down the line. We also had lots of people coming to the stand from previous year's events who had had Avanti kitchens and bedrooms. They were really pleased with what we had done and just wanted to come and thank us."
Steph added: “The conversations we had at the show backs up the widely held view that people are choosing to improve rather than move.
“When it comes to style, there was a positive response to our high gloss and painted kitchens and grey and green painted kitchens seem to be popular.”

Avant's green schemes are year round winner
Avanti's ongoing eco-friendly campaign is continuing to save thousands of pounds every year and help the environment.
The company has rolled out several green schemes at its headquarters and factory in Lye and nine other showrooms in the West Midlands and Scotland.
Recent initiatives include sourcing energy efficient products such as lighting and introducing re-usable protective packaging. Reducing the need for corrugated cardboard, the packaging was introduced earlier this year at a cost of £8,000 and will save an estimated £18,000 over the next two years.
Also reaping benefits for both Avanti and the environment is a factory waste management system. Waste sawdust and wood is converted into heat, which is then pumped into the factory.
Since it was installed in 2006, the system has reduced the company’s gas bill by £16,000 per annum and cut the amount of waste produced from 760 tonnes in 2006-07 to 79 tonnes in 2008-09. In 2010-11 the figure dropped to 56 tonnes. The company’s impact on landfill sites is now virtually zero.
To ensure efficient electricity supply to the factory, a power factor correction, consisting of banks of capacitors was installed in 2008. The result is a 20 per cent reduction in electricity use and a saving of enough carbon dioxide to fill half a hot air balloon.
Avanti recouped the £10,000 cost in just 18 months through reduced electricity bills and the life of electrical equipment has also been extended.
Lynn Hopkins, Avanti’s managing director, said: “We take our social responsibilities very seriously and are delighted to have made such excellent progress.
“More than half of our business comes from existing customers and their recommendations and some have told us that our green credentials influenced their decision when choosing a company to manufacture and fit their new kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.”
8th October, 2012
We are about to introduce re-usable protective packaging for our kitchen, bedroom and bathroom products and are now in the final stages of agreeing a supplier. This will reduce cardboard packaging by 90% and further reduce our impact on landfill; it also reduces the need for our customers to dispose of waste packaging themselves.

Meet our £1,000 shower winners
Just when Paul and Libby Davies thought this week couldn’t get any better following Andy Murray’s win at Wimbledon, they got a call from Avanti telling them they’d scooped a fantastic Aqua 6 shower enclosure and tray worth £1,000 in our free to enter prize draw.
The couple were given the entry form by Avanti sales manager Ray Anderson when he was in the process of designing a bathroom and kitchen for their home in Stourport.
“We’re absolutely delighted as we never thought for a minute our names would be drawn out,” said Paul.
Libby added: “We’ve already seen the shower at Avanti’s showroom in Level Street, Brierley Hill, and can’t wait to have one ourselves in our new look bathroom. It will be a real focal point in the room and our son Ethan can’t wait to use it too!”
To enter the draw, Paul and Libby were quizzed on how they rate their priorities when considering the purchase of a new kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.

Mike and Emma Jenvey:
“We still can't believe how fantastic our kitchen is, it is exactly what we would have chosen and more. What you achieved
